Keith Denebeim to Show TR6 at Mexia Concours

Staff

This Triumph TR6 owned by Keith Denebeim of Austin, Texas has been restored with classic British traditions and a tribute to the British MOD movement of the 60’s.

The car has been affectionally named, SLIP KID, after the famed song by the rock band, The WHO, in which Keith has been an avid fan his entire life.  The WHO were the ultimate connection to the MOD subculture that began in LONDON and spread throughout Great Britain. MODs were most famous for the use of the Lambretta motor-scooter and  The WHO record and cult movie, Quadrophenia, is the ultimate connection to the movement.

MODS were influencing fashions and trends and continue today on a smaller scale. Focused on music and fashion, the TRIUMPH TR6 (1968-1976) epitomizes the ultimate look in style and performance.

This TR6 has been restored with the original documented British Industry Registry engine and matching numbers. There have been a few MOD’s to re-create this Classic car.   The original color of the car was Imperial Blue but was changed to the brilliant Triumph Delft Blue which was not available until the 1975 model.   The interior was also changed to Honey Tan from its original French Blue and there are a few minor changes in the engine.    With 58,000 original miles, this TR6 truly represents the classic roadster of the era as well as a great tribute to all MODs, “a way of life.”
